The Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) inked a partnership with the Concerned Bangsamoro Youth of Davao Oriental (CBYDO) through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing today, December 14, 2021. 

Present to represent CBYDO is the organization’s president Mr. Jaynud Deen M. Desales. Meanwhile, DOrSU was represented by SUC President III Dr. Roy G. Ponce. Among those present in the event are the Office of Student Volunteerism and Community Engagement Head Dr. Gorjel E. Llanita, Director for Student Services Dr. Evangeline R. Rivera, Deans, and Program Heads.

DORSU and DICT collaborate for a 3-day “Digital Literacy Training”

DICT Davao Oriental partnered with Davao Oriental State University – Information Technology Program on its goal of promoting digital literacy through a 3-day training that started December 7, 2021 and will end on December 9, 2021 at Happy Forest Kids (HFK) Center, Sitio Catmonan, Macambol, City of Mati, Davao Oriental.

This collaboration between DICT and DORSU aimed to teach the elementary, junior and senior high school students of Sitio Catmonan on the use of computers, proper usage of Internet services as well as involve topics on the advantages of being able to understand how to use technology. The training’s first day kicked off with an opening program, graced with the presence and inspirational message from the University President himself, Dr. Roy G. Ponce, and Mr. Daruel Porlares, HFK Coordinator at Sitio Catmonan.

Aside from the students who are the target beneficiaries of this activity, the 3-day event is composed of series of trainings to be conducted by Ms. Chriza Mae U. Davin, Ms. Eleisha Kyle Ligad, and Mr. Tomas Paolo V. Butiong, representatives from DICT, with the assistance of the faculty from the DORSU-BSIT Program. Among the faculty who helped in facilitating the first day of the trainings were Mr. Wilkin F. Simo, Mr. Demosthenes F. Manguiob, Mr. Danver G. Palmiano, and Ms. Cindy A. Lasco, and the laboratory in-charge, Mr. Marjohn Laguidong.

The team is looking forward that the next two (2) days of the training will go on smoothly as several activities are currently being prepared to create a meaningful experience to the younger generation of Macambol and Sitio Catmonan on its intent to further enhance the digital literacy of the so-called “millenials”. https://3c5.com/OzOzB

The Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) XI, and the City of Mati Agriculture Office (CAO) conducted the first leg of the training series under the project “High-Value Seeds/ Seedling Production, Massive Distribution and Capacity Building among Target Beneficiaries in Davao Oriental” last November 23, 2021, at the DOrSU AVR.
Around 50 vegetable farmers participated in the first day of training which focused on Vegetable Seed Production and Management. Mr. Raymund Antiola served as the resource person for the event.
The training series, led by the Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) Division of the University, will continue on December 1 and 7, 2021, as part of DOrSU and DA’s collaboration on Massive Seeds/ Seedling Distribution under Bayanihan Act II. https://3c5.com/oMgwy

The Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) officially formalized a partnership with the Diocese of Mati through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing today, November 22, 2021.

Present to represent DOrSU and the Diocese of Mati are SUC President III Dr. Roy G. Ponce and Bishop Abel C. Apigo, respectively. They were also joined by the team of researchers from the University who were tasked to lead a series of consultations across 20 parishes in Davao Oriental, namely: Dr. Edito B. Sumile (Project Consultant), Dr. Mary Fil M. Bauyot (Project Leader), Dr. Janessa P. Catam-isan, Dr. Evangeline R. Rivera, Dr. Jeralyn H. Sacro, Mr. Ricksterlie Verzosa, Ms. Joan D. Sumile, and Mr. Jhonnel P. Villegas. 

This MOA aims to encourage the exchange of information, learning, and collaboration related to the Vademecum for the Synod on Synodality which includes the facilitation and evaluation of local churches in their communion, participation, and mission. https://3c5.com/VojZe
