DOrSU Professor Milton Norman D. Medina and his team from the Natural Museum of History (Luxembourg) and Daugavpils University (Latvia) added two new species to science.

The first species is ๐๐ข๐ค๐ช๐ข ๐ค๐ข๐ฃ๐ณ๐ข๐ด๐ข๐ฆ, named after Dr. Analyn Anzano Cabras, one of the founders of the Philippine Coleopterological Network (PhilColNet), for her significant contribution towards the advancement of beetle research and conservation in Philippines. On the other hand, the ๐๐ข๐ค๐ช๐ข (๐๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ค๐ณ๐ฆ๐จ๐บ๐ฆ๐ด) ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ฃ๐ฐ is dedicated to the Manobo, a tribe habiting the island of Mindanao, Philippines.
The two new species are described in a paper titled “Catalog of the genus Cacia Newman (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Lamiinae)in the Philippines with description of two new species,” published in Zootaxa.
